Love seeing Medusa and Cruella together plus the reference to Medusa being the Duchess of Diamonds, her original name. Also isn’t Mulan in her Mattel Spring Blossom doll dress?
This was not the page I was expecting and I am delightfully surprised! ???? I hope we see more of Medusa with Cruella! (Plus it’s such a cool nod to the fact that Medusa was a replacement character for Cruella, the original antagonist to The Rescuers)

Okay, I love that Medusa and Cruella are in this world as hair stylists and fashion designers at the Crimson Citadel. Also, if I recall correctly, Medusa was loosely based upon a character in the Rescuers novel series known as the Diamond Duchess. Renaming her here as the Duchess of Diamonds is brilliant.
Yes, I loved that reference too. It’s interesting that both are dressed from completely different eras though with Medusa in garb from the early 1900s and Cruella from the 1700s.

One of my favorite facts about Madame Medusa is that the animator, Milt Kahl, based her design off of his ex-wife!????
Interestingly enough, that ex-wife was Walt Disney’s niece. Or his wife’s niece specifically. Apparently she was considered a very volatile woman and Walt and his wife were not huge fans of her and considered her a nuisance.

Into Mulan’s mind : “Déjà vu … “

Correct. She was Walt Disney’s wife’s niece and apparently Karl’s second wife.
