Dracula and his “reincarnated soulmate”, i see this trope in so many modern adaptations, that practically become canon.
Nowadays he’s almost always Mr.”Tall, Darnkess and Handsome” or a elegant-looking dilf who age graciously, while in the original book is described as like a Walder Frey with hairy hands, ugly moustache and giant eyebrows. Even after becoming younger drinking blood he still not good looking.
The Original Dracula also as very strong mataphor to rapists and human predators (and in fact his Modus Operandi its pretty much the same), a evil sorcerer taught by the Devil himself and a baby kidnapper, but most people ignore it.
No offence, i not saying that modern versions are not good (becouse they are and i love a good fanfiction), but it´s like comparing Voldemort with Elphaba.
