Apart from the case of Rapunzel, yes. Belle having a different origin story is already an old concept that was first introduced by including her mother’s pocket watch, back in Chapter 11. There were always plans for her to have a special chapter in the remake, given the many changes needed for Belle’s future storylines. But it wasn’t until a few months ago that Cyan and I discussed in depth the entire renewed story of Beauty and the Beast.
We’ll paint me curious. If I’m not mistaken, Belle’s mother’s name on that watch was Laura. It seemed to hint that she was the same character from the novel Carmilla and if so, may have some sort of relationship with the Carmilla in this story.

That’s exciting. I’m guessing that explains how the Beast still has parents and the special roles they’ll play in this story.

Belle has always been my favorite princess, and Beauty and the Beast my favorite of the fairy tales. So I CAN’T WAIT to see what you all do with it!!!
