I remember how confused and upset I was when this reveal first showed up. Of course it was way back before the earlier chapters were redone and we didn’t know a thing about Ariel’s magical voice powers, Ariel and Eric’s marriage falling apart due to it or that Eric was cheating on her with Odile. I remember being corrected by the authors when I thought Eric was being brainwashed or hopefully just playing along at the time.????

Marrying again so soon after such a tragic event… I think he is under the abyssal voice again. Berthalda gained powers due to the seashell. She doesn’t love him, but she wants to possess him.
Berthalda doesn’t possess the abyssal voice, Eric is not under a spell anymore.

Ursula say that Ariel voice affect her father emotions and temper. So i can total see he react this way to his daughter disapperance, but not why he so sure is Eric fault.
In Arista Chapter, Ursula also say something about the Abyssal Voice of the lake mermaids original came form the primordial ondines. Since Berthalda still has Ondine powers, it sound possible that she may broke the spell (we didn´t really have any look of Berthalda powers on action or what she can do).
I don´t know if the backstory of Berthalda will be redone, but when she attack Belle and Ariel kill Gaston with the Trident, Berthalda call Ariel “Undine”. It obvions that she is half-crazy or at least not totally logical, but since Agatha believe that Alphonse is his son from a past life, maybe she believe Ariel and Eric are Undine and Hans?

Ok, sorry if im out of line where, but i really need to ask: WHY Eric is in his Birthday suit? there is a reason, is just fanservice or have something about what Claudio say about Berthalda using him as “sex puppet”? (i don´t no how to feel about that) I can´t really see him join Berthalda threesome in Gaston and Dark Phillip, honestly.🤔
I wonder how long the time has passed to Eric and Claudio compared in Ariel. For her its only a couple of days, but he is talking as if years have passed.
