“A sister destroying the other’s chances of victory” makes me wonder… was Ariel’s relic created by Ariel’s triumph over Arista when the latter tried to murder Eric and failed? It seems very possible – and it would tie nicely with the main storyline of the comic.
Good connection! It also makes me wonder how far Arista will get with her plan if Tristan interferes and tries to stop her.

Will Arista’s hair grow back? I mean all the other daughters of triton have long hair they style to look short ( I think) or will they all come to Ursula & make deals & give up their hair for the deal?
We see in the future when Arista is married to Tristan that her hair did grow back.

It really is ironic how all of this disaster leads all the way back to Harmonia. And it sucks that her daughters have to pay the price for her actions against her sister even after she’s dead and gone.

Well, we know something had to have gone south in that deal because Ursula ended up having to step in disguised as Vanessa using Ariel’s own voice to seduce Eric. She’d have to be very desperate to do that. Also, why is she so sure that Arista won’t survive long in the human world? Simply because she’s not as well versed in it as Ariel? Also, figures that those earrings were originally Ursula’s to begin with. Harmonia was always stealing her stuff.🤣🤣
To be fair, Eric is a prince, so killing him would be no easy task. If she were suspected of being an assassin targeting the royal family, she would likely be imprisoned and sentenced to death, if not executed on the spot.
And I had a feeling those earrings were Ursula’s all along! 😆
You are most definitely right. Not to mention, her and Ariel need to touch water to become mermaids again. They may not be able to do so in time if the guards were to suddenly show up. Also, Ariel may not be willing to go with Arista afterwards. I mean, she’d see her sister just kill the man she loved. Also,I actually kind of forgot that Harmonia kept stealing Ursula’s things until it was mentioned that the earrings were originally hers.🤣
Except that Ariel will forget about Eric the moment Arista kills him. “If you kill the human prince your sister has fallen in love with, she will forget his existence and that she ever loved him.” That’s what Ursula said in the previous page.
You’re completely right, I forgot that Ariel would completely forget about Eric’s existence if Arista successfully killed Eric. I actually have this insane theory on why Arista failed to kill Eric although it had some holes in it and I highly doubt it’s the correct answer.

I was hoping she wouldn’t take the deal, but oh well. I know she cares for her sister and wants her home safe, but in the hypothetical scenario that she succeeds in her side of the deal, what does she think will really happen to Ariel’s mind and personality. What kind of person does she think Ariel will be after this. It’s essentially hijacking her mind in an effort to make her “normal”. It’s been on my mind lately.
The sad truth is that many people, often including our own families, would often prefer us to match the image of us they have in their heads, than the people we truly are. Maybe that’s how Arista wanted Ariel to be.

I think this version of the story will only have Arista making the sacrifice, but her hair is shown to be long in her last appearance in the chapters.

Oh~, another fuck you to Harmonia. Understandable. 🤷♀️ Doesn’t make it right. ):
