I was pleasantly surprised to see this too! When I was younger I always liked the detail of the mermaid having the option to kill the prince. It’s gonna be so cool watching Arista attempt to do the same!
If Arista is actually desperate enough to go for this deal. Keep in mind so far, when Ursula greets Arista again at Melody’s 16th birthday party, she merely refers to her as her last visitor not her last client or anything else. I’m hoping Tristan actually didn’t listen to Arista and is still close by to interrupt this possible deal before things get more serious than they already are at this moment.

The thought of Arista being out for Eric’s blood is so exciting and unexpected. I can’t wait to know what Ursula has to gain from this deal.

Very curious what Urusla wants from Arista. I’m assuming her hair from the fairy tale but not sure what value it would have for Ursula except that it’s a reminder of her sister.
I actually think it’s gonna be her hair simply judging by the way it’s flowing around in the last pages 🙂 almost as if to highlight it before it’s cut xD
There’s been a lot of focus on her hair in all these pages. There’s a 1976 Russian Little Mermaid movie where the sea witch is good and friends with the mermaid. She asks for the mermaid’s long aqua hair in payment so she can wear that hair for herself. I don’t think Ursula will want the hair to wear it but I’m curious if maybe it might have some sort of magical quality. We know she used the abyssal voice to transform herself back to her true “Vanessa” form but maybe that spell also required hair from someone with lake mermaid ancestry or something like that.

Now we have the original fairy tale fall into play that if Eric is killed, Ariel will revert back to being a mermaid, albeit without any memory of her longing to be “part of that world”. Yet I wonder if Arista is desperate enough to take this risk since she’s definitely more difficult to entice than Ariel. Also, would Arista also have a time limit since Ariel had 3 days to get Eric to kiss her to permanently become human or she’d belong to Ursula forever.
Since Ursula tells Arista they both will turn into mermaids again “the moment [they] touch the water together’ I assume Arista has the same time Ariel has left to complete her own contract.
Yay, the original fairy tale inspired contract! I wonder if Ursula demands Arista’s hair or something else as payment
