Actually, in the original book, Dorian past its a little sad: he grew up without parents, because his granfather, Lord Kelso, paid a men to kill is father, a military officer, in a duel. His mother Margaret, who married below her class without the consent of her father, died soon after and Dorien is raised by his grandfather, but them dislike each other.
One thing i never understood of the book, is how dorien picture works, because Dorien never make or say yes to some Faustian pact with the devil: he just made a simple comment and SOMETHING happened to be close to hear?
How old is Dorian, when he become imortal? In the Novel he is twenty something, but there he looks more like around thirties.
To me he could be around 28-32
