Both Attina and Arista experienced childhood trauma involving death and having to keep it a secret. I wonder if they’ll eventually open up to each other.

I was wondering if anyone witnessed Ariel’s birth and how they reacted. Guess I have my answer.

I really feel for Attina here. I’m the eldest sister too, and that means you alone know all of the family secrets and have to shield them from your younger siblings. It truly is a burden.

I wonder why Attina was the only one allowed to witness the birth. No midwives, nurses, or the other sisters, assuming she wouldn’t want Triton or any males around.
What a pity Harmonia was so arrogant that she assumed she could birth this baby by herself and never learned the teachings from her mother on how lake mermaids give birth safely. And I’m guessing this knowledge would be completely unknown in Atlantica, plus maybe Harmonia keeping it a secret.
I think Harmonia purposely wanted no witnesses because she would kill the baby if it was a boy (three times she’s done this). But she must have went into labor unexpectedly since Ariel chewed her way out of her, and Attina just happened to be there.

Dang, really makes you realize how Harmonia’s selfishness had a lasting effect on so many lives. Not even her own daughters were spared the pain and trauma she inflicted. As far as I’m concerned she’s up there with Tremaine for “worst character” (morally).
I would say Althea too… Maybe even more than Harmonia. Harmonia is more like a selfish-big-ego brat, but Althea is really scheming and long-term manipulative.

Isn’t Attina supposed to be three years old here? Once Breadfly said that mermaid’s pregnancies only lasts 3 months, and that in the three years of their marriage, Harmonia and Triton had 10 children, 3 of which (the boys) were killed by Harmonia.
Is this no longer canon?

That image of baby Ariel chewing through her mother’s body to get out looks like something out of a horror movie. What saddens me is how Attica was always afraid that Ariel was cursed and probably feared for herself and her other sisters’ lives all the time because she thought they’d all end up like her mother did that day.
Attina, listen to me: None of this is your fault. ):
You and your sisters were born into this mess that Harmonia created. ):

At this point it’s no wonder Attina doesn’t want to get married. It’s not just because she doesn’t want to lose lucidity in case her partner dies; she also probably doesn’t want to risk getting her insides chewed out by a baby like it happened to her mother.

The fact that Harmonia has the cynicism to speak so disparagingly about men and even her own sons, whom she herself killed, is astonishing. I keep finding it interesting that many Sins had potentially much more malevolent figures around them who pushed them to become their worst versions.
