As a perspective of Aurora, this is overly painful to see your love being tortured, more painful than death. Especially looking at her begging mercy for Phillip makes me feel extremely heartbreaking.
Although Maleficent is one of my favorite Disney Villain, she is literally ruining Aurora’s mental severly!

I remembered freaking out when Aurora was forced to kill him in the original version. This one feels more like the crucifixion of Jesus, with the position that Phillip is in and of course the thorns digging into his skin. Mind you, I don’t know too much about this due to being Jewish, just familiar with the rough basics. Also, right through the eyes! Ouch!

I wonder if he will start screaming, begging for her to kill him due to the pain. Maybe Aurora will still pierce his heart in this version, but for the sake of relieving him from this torture.
