Did Belle’s dress change? I remember there being red roses and some sort of sleeves or gloves before.

Ugh I adore Belle’s golden dress redesign! 😫💕 I know it had 2 previous versions but the one before felt too flashy and monochromatic to me, and also way too big for my taste. It also looked very shiny like a magical dress and I associate big shiny dresses with Cinderella more, in Belle’s case her dress does shine in the movie because of the way the drapery reflects light and I love that the redesigned dress still kept it! I also noticed the different shades of gold in the dress since the original dress has them as well, some are more yellowish and some more cream pastel yellow and it makes the dress so much more pleasing to the eye. I hate hate HAAATE when they make Belle’s dress banana yellow in the Disney princess franchise as well as with Snow White’s skirt, or Cinderella having a primary blue dress (though Cinderella seems to slowly be returning to a light pale blue both in merchandise and in dolls). I also love Adam having a more detailed suit with the longer skirt!
It really is. There’s a simplicity to it – despite it being a ballgown – that really suits Belle’s character.

Ding-dong, the horrible yellow dress has died! Which old dress? The horrible egg-flan dress made by Breadfly.
Honestly, I can’t express how much I love this dress and how it finally looks much closer to the animated one, instead of the hundredth interpretation by Breadfly trying to do—like always—a horrible, over-the-top dress that’s supposedly more “historically accurate,” hurt your eyes, and barely let you appreciate anything.
I still remember the yellow mishmash melted down the center that Belle wore before, and the earlier version that I call the “pearl overdose” dress… Belle is my favorite princess, and I see this silhouette and this dress as far more in line with what her original dress is meant to be. This really does feel like a high-quality reinterpretation of a princess dress. I also don’t want to miss the chance to mention how gorgeous the hair turned out and how handsome Adam looks now!
Thank you for this!

I won’t lie, there was a point I started getting frustrated with the comic for getting way too detailed designs instead of continuing the plot so it’s nice to have simplicity returning.
Can’t see the page :c

The new version of Belle’s dress is lovely.
