It’s been intend that Tristan used to work for Ursula, and that Arista visited Ursula’s lair after Ariel did. We will discover why in chapter 3.5

Alice say that a relic “emerges from the triumph of one woman over another under special circumstances and its a symbol of victory”. I don´t see how cinderella slipper become a relic, but maybe the necklace belog to Harmonia?
Melody’s necklace is not a relic; it’s just a piece of enchanted jewelry that Triton gifted Ursula when they were engaged. Later on, Harmonia stole it from Ursula and hid it away, and when Harmonia passed, Triton gifted it to Melody, probably believing it belonged to Harmonia all along.
As for Cinderella’s glass slipper, I believe it became a relic after the Grand Duke found Cinderella and recognized her as a pure-hearted girl during his quest to get all the maidens in the kingdom to try it on; at that moment, Cinderella “won” over Lady Tremaine after all.
This ^. The story is quite clear that you only “win” a relic when one woman triumphs over another. The slipper is one because it’s well, exactly that…the representation of when Cinderella “triumphed” over Lady Tremaine.
IF Melody’s locket were a relic, it wouldn’t belong to Ariel, but instead to Harmonia, since it would be Harmonia triumphing over Ursula. That said however, it’s more likely that Ariel’s relic comes from Arista rather than Ursula (that at least seems to be the direction 3.5 is going in).
We have no idea what Ariel’s relic is as of yet (even Alice isn’t sure what it is), but it’s also important to note that the author’s have confirmed a relic doesn’t have to necessarily manifest as a tangible object, it just has to “belong” to its owner in some way. My personal fan theory is Ariel’s relic is connected to her trident (and by extension) her connection to the sea as a mermaid, given it would fit with Cinderella only awakening hers when she re-discovered her true self. I could be totally off the mark though.
What did she mean by her old partner? And did she mean last visitor as in Arista? Will this be all explained in a different chapter?
