Ah, that term confused me on the previous page before it was corrected. I was wondering what Tristan had to do with Triton, not knowing that it was a Spanish word for merman.

I guess Ursula has some specific plan to go with her sister’s flower of the pact.
Yeah, that makes sense. After all, Harmonia’s the cause of all this.

Sonne, I want to compliment you and Cyan for the very realistic portrayal of religious OCD you gave us through your version of Arista, both here and in the other pages. Only those who suffered from it – like myself – know what being afraid of doing something for fear of divine repercussions, and yet feeling the impulse to do it anyway, feels like.
Thank you for representing that in media.

Besides, I do have a feeling something terrible is indeed going to happen in the next page. Maybe not because of the flower, but still.

More fleshing out of her sisters than the films ever did.

There had been mention that the flowers would bloom for several years then wither away, symbolizing that the deceased soul had been reincarnated. Since we know Harmonia died shortly after Ariel’s birth, either the flowers bloom for quite some time, or somebody isn’t getting reincarnated any time soon. 😉 Well, that and the religion being found to be false anyway.
Great point! And whether or not the religion is true plays a big part in Harmonia’s fate. Here is my theory:
Gutenberg was one of the places with a different religion/divinity (the one that the Green Witch and Beatrix worshipped, unless that part of Beatrix’s backstory has been changed). We still have yet to see the legitimacy of that religion but if it’s real, I wonder how that works with The First One and The Second One.
Ondine told Ariel that the Goddesses would have eventually destroyed her world. Does this mean that The First One and The Second One destroy any other gods/goddesses with influence there?
If the ocean divinity of the mermaid’s is real, I wonder if Harmonia cannot reincarnate because she is technically a lake mermaid. Thus making her not a creation of the sea goddess. And recall that there was some tension between ocean mermaids and lake mermaids from being similar but still different species.
Anyone feel free to correct me if I’m wrong or missed anything.
I love that Arista was at first letting him do it to test her doubt/fear lol. But it totally makes sense that Ursula would send Tristan after Harmonia’s flower of all mermaids.
Well Arista, what would have happened if he had actually died? Such coldness D: I suppose that now her beliefs will begin to crumble.
I guess she didn’t care that much since, technically, he is a thief. But still, sheesh
Is Triton the term for a merman in this comic?
I wonder if the flower on her bra is supposed to represent the flower of the pact.
Actually, it was a silly mistake because it’s the Spanish word 🤣

These are actually great theories!

You’ve been lied to, honey.
