Now this is interesting. We already know Claudio has bad intentions but he almost seems sincere when talking to Melody here. “Innocence is the first step towards the truth”, but it also means innocence makes you easier to be lied to.

I have trouble understanding that phrase too. But I think it goes with the phrase “innocent until proven guilty”. So maybe he’s telling Melody that we all start off with innocent perspectives until the truth leads us to learn otherwise. I’m not entirely sure though if anyone else has theory.

Melody’s perspective on family is so sad, because she never really knew what a functioning family is like. Yes, family does find a way, but not one where its members fail to communicate with each other, which keeps happening even years after the main conflict has been resolved.
