Yes, this one is completely different and more revealing in their motivations. Easier to understand now although I do miss how Dorian pointed out that Carmilla laughing proves she is not as pure and benevolent as she claims to be.
I wonder if Dorian is not interested in the fact that Carmilla is half Snow White. Surely he would want the full Snow White including the part of her that makes up Carmilla.
My main issue with the previous version is that Dorian came across as too much of a two-dimensional cartoon villain in his initial appearances, and his patronizing treatment of Carmilla like she was a little girl felt just itchy.
Also as you pointed, it didn’t quite make sense for Dorian to be so obsessed with Carmilla only to abruptly shift his attention to Snow White a couple of chapters later, so we’re aiming to address these inconsistencies 🙂
