Ariel’s story is so tragic in hindsight (well… Most of the princesses in this retelling are, but… You got the point). She was birthed by a narcissistic sociopath who brainwashed her father into loving her, THEN she was born with the same curse to “force” people to “love” her, wich is why her father was so overbearing with her, and that without saying that she was born into a family traumatized by the insideous actions of her own mother.
Like… DAMN, Harmonia REALLY ruined the lifes of so many people over pride and greed, wich gets reflected into Ariel’s disfunctional relationship with her family, just like how Harmonia’s stubborness kept her at bay with her own. It’s really tragic and ironic how different they are from eachoter regarding character and goals, yet… Both kind of endend in misery, all while bringing other people down with them
Ariel PROBABLY has the most tragic upbringing, specially since all that has happened was out of her control
Again… Just tragic, and epically so.
